xTool S1 FAQ: What an Office Administrator Learned Before Buying a Laser Engraver

7. What do you wish you knew before buying?

Three things.

First, the accessory budget. Most buyers compare machine prices and completely miss the rest of it. We saved $150 on a third-party air assist because the price felt like a deal. It wasn't strong enough for clean acrylic cuts, so we bought the official xTool one for $180. Net loss: $330 and a week of frustration. The full bundle from the start would have cost less and worked from day one.
